When backing up My Photos and My Media in Genie Backup Manager (GBM), GBM scans for the following extensions:

My Photos

*.bmp,*.dib,*.jpg,*.jpeg,*.jpe,*.jfif,*.gif,*.tif,*.tiff,*.png

My Media

*.au,*.snd,*.asf,*.wm,*.wmx,*.wmd,*.wma,*.wax,*.wmv,*.wvx,*.avi,*.wav,*.mpeg,*.mpg,
*.mpe,*.m1v,*.mp2,*.mpv2,*.mp2v,*.mpa,*.mp3,*.mid,*.midi,*.rmi,*.aif,*.aifc,*.aiff,*.rt,*.rm,
*.ram,*.ra,*.rmvb,*.rp,*.rv,*.mov,*.qt,*.m4a,*.m4p,*.mp1,*.mpga,*.ssm,*.sdp,*.3gp,*.mp4,
*.swa,*.3gpp,*.mpa,*.m1a,*.m1v,*.mqv,*.bwf

To add more formats to these lists, here is what you need to do:

  1. Go to the folder where GBM software is installed. The default location is C:\Program Files\Genie9\Genie Backup Manager
  2. Right-click the myphotos.xml file there if you wish to add more file types to the My Photos scan, and mymedia.xml file there if you wish to add more file types to the My Media scan → Edit.
  3. Add the extension you wish to browse for after the last extension and before the tab. For example, if you wish to scan for the .dwg file format, add ;*.dwg as shown in the following screenshot.
