Genie Backup Manager Does Not See Files with SYSTEM+HIDDEN Combo Attributes

SYMPTOMS

When opening the My Folders tab, the files/folders with system + hidden attributes are not shown in the tree there. Therefore you can’t select to back them up.

 

CAUSE

Since they are protected files, Windows will hide them and you should manually show them in order to be able to back them up using Genie Backup Manager (GBM).

 

RESOLUTION

Please do the following:

  1. Open your Genie Backup Manager (GBM).
  2. Click Tools on the menu bar → Global Preferences  → From Category, select Backup Settings → Make sure the Show hidden files/folders in “My Folders” option is checked → OK.
