Mirror backups do not have a 2 GB limitation. The restriction occurs only when you are doing mirror backups with compression without rollback. Any other scenario will not be restricted by this 2 GB limitation.
Mirror backups scan all files to delete missing files/folders from archive. Therefore, making it exceed this size will lead to considerably slow backup.
Recommendation! Backup without compression and use encryption for extra security.
