SYMPTOMS
When installing the Microsoft Exchange plugin in Genie Backup Manager (Server edition), you receive the following error:
“Failed to load Microsoft Exchange Backup Engine”
CAUSE
This could occur for the following reasons:
- Genie Backup Manager is not installed on the same machine where the MS Exchange is installed.
- Failure to copy esebcli2.dll to the C:\Windows\System32 folder
RESOLUTION
- Install Genie Backup Manager (GBM) on the same machine where the MS Exchange is installed, as GBM is unable to manage Exchange Server remotely.
- Manual copy the esebcli2.dll file from the program folder Microsoft Exchange is currently installed in to the C:\Windows\System32 folder this is done from the following steps:
