Error Message: “The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.”

SYMPTOMS

When opening GBM you receive the above error message

 

RESOLUTION

  1. From your Control Panel → Programs and Features → Uninstall all 2005, 2008, and 2010 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages.
  2. Download and install the following Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages one by one:
