SwiftRestore is Failing

SYMPTOMS

Trying to restore from Swift Restore backup (.exe backup) but getting a message warning you about a missing DLL file file.

 

CAUSE

A very rare case where the mfc71u.dll is missing from your system.

 

RESOLUTION

  1. Download the mfc71u.dll.zip file using this link.
  2. Extract the downloaded .zip file to get the Mfc71u.dll file from it.
  3. Copy the extracted Mfc71u.dll file to the following folder on your system: 
    C:\WINDOWS\system32
  4. If your system is 64-Bit, copy the Mfc71u.dll file and paste it into the following folder, too: 
    C:\Windows\sysWOW64

NOTE! On 64-Bit systems, you must copy the dll file to both the sysWOW64 and System32 folders. In other words, both folders need the Mfc71u.dll file.
